Find out what your data is getting wrong

Find out what your tracking is getting wrong.

We place real test orders, follow each one from the browser to GA4, Google Ads and Meta, and write down every place the data goes wrong. You get a fix list ranked by what it costs you.

Sample audit report mockup for Northwind Outdoor Co. (demo store), a demo store with invented data. Signal-quality score 38 out of 100, needs work. 4 high, 3 medium, 1 low severity findings. What we do

A full trace, not a tag checklist

Live test orders

We buy through your real checkout (refunded after) and record exactly what each platform receives, with which values and IDs.

Platform-side review

With read access to GA4, Google Ads, Meta Events Manager and GTM, we compare what was sent with what each platform counted.

Consent behaviour

We test the site with consent refused, accepted and ignored, and check what fires in each case.

Ranked findings

Each finding gets a severity, the evidence, what it affects and the fix. High-severity items come first.

Fix estimate

A fixed quote to implement the fixes, with the audit fee credited against it if you go ahead. You are free to hand the report to anyone else.

Walkthrough

We go through the findings with you and your team, and answer questions until the next steps are clear.

Why it matters

When three tools give three answers, the ad platforms pick the wrong one.

Meta and Google bid on the purchases you report to them. If those are doubled or missing, they learn from the wrong buyers. The audit finds where the gap comes from and how big it is.

Sample

Sample before-and-after comparison. Before: the store recorded 100 orders, Meta reported 162 because purchases were counted twice, and GA4 reported 71 because orders were missing. After the fix: store 100, Meta 98, GA4 97.

Sample numbers for one week of a store’s orders. Ad platforms bid on what they are told, so a doubled or missing purchase changes where your budget goes.

Scope

What we check

The core list. We add store-specific checks after the kickoff call.

Tag Manager

  • Container structure and naming
  • Triggers firing on the right pages
  • Duplicate or orphaned tags
  • Who has publish access

  • E-commerce events and parameters
  • Purchase value, tax, shipping, currency
  • Cross-domain and checkout steps
  • Referral exclusions and payment gateways

  • Meta CAPI setup and pixel overlap
  • Event ID deduplication
  • Event match quality inputs
  • Domain verification and event priority

Google Ads

  • Primary vs secondary conversions
  • Enhanced conversions
  • GA4 imports counted twice
  • Conversion value rules

Consent

  • Consent Mode v2 defaults
  • Tags that fire before a choice
  • Banner wording and options
  • PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25 gaps

Store platform

  • Shopify customer events or WooCommerce hooks
  • Native app integrations
  • Thank-you and upsell pages
  • Refunds and cancellations

Why this costs more than a gig

A setup gig checks that tags fire. The audit checks what each platform believes.

Cheap “GA4 + server-side + CAPI” setups are easy to find. They install tags and check that something fires. Our work is priced higher because it checks what each platform actually receives, and leaves you with a record of it.

TestingReal orders through your own checkout, followed into GA4, Google Ads and Meta and compared with the store.Tags checked in a preview tool or a test-event screen.

What you receiveWritten findings with evidence, ranked by impact, and fixes a developer can follow without us.A short message or a few screenshots.
After the fixWhen we build the fixes, each platform is checked against the store again, so the fix is proven rather than assumed.Work ends once the tags fire.
Follow-upA walkthrough call with you or your developer, and questions answered until the next steps are clear.Extra questions usually mean a new order.

Questions

Common questions

What access do you need?

Read access to Google Tag Manager, GA4, Google Ads and Meta Events Manager, plus a staff or collaborator account on Shopify or WooCommerce. We never need payment details or admin ownership.

Do you change anything during the audit?

No. The audit is read-only. Any fixes happen afterwards, either by your team or by us under a separate implementation quote.

Can an agency resell the audit?

Yes. The white-label audit is delivered unbranded or in your format, and we stay out of the client relationship.

How long does it take?

Five to seven business days from the day access is in place, ending with the walkthrough call. Agency audits follow the same timeline.

What if everything is already fine?

Then the report says so, with the evidence. If the audit finds nothing worth fixing, we refund the audit fee. The conditions are set out in our terms.

What happens to our data?

We work with read-only access wherever a platform allows it, and you can remove it once the walkthrough is done. We keep the report and our working notes, not copies of your customer or order data. Test orders are refunded.

Who does the audit?

A senior tracking specialist does the work personally. The person you speak to on the kickoff call is the person who runs the tests, writes the report and walks you through it.
